CJIR Annual Award

The CJIR Annual Awards are given to three best articles for the given year. The laureats are selected by the editorial board on the basis of the quality of the text and its relevance to and engagement with scholarship from Central and Eastern Europe. The Award was established in 2025.

 

CJIR Annual Award for 2024

Winner: Anastasiia Poberezhna, Olga Burlyuk, Anja van Heelsum for their contribution A Superhero Army, a Courageous People and an Enchanted Land: Wartime Political Myths and Ontological Security in the 2022 Russian Invasion of Ukraine published in CJIR 59(1).

1st runner up: Elżbieta Korolczuk for her contribution Freedom of Religion and Freedom from Religion in the Context of Contemporary Anti-Gender Politics published in CJIR 59(3).

2nd runner up: Stefan Auer, Pavel Barša, Agnes Gagyi and Hans Kundnani for their contribution Book Forum on Hans Kundnani's Eurowhiteness: Culture, Empire and Race in the European Project published in CJIR 59(3)
