The Arab-Israeli Conflict – Past and Present
Abstract
Words like Arab-Israeli conflict, Palestinian issue, occupied territories, jihad etc. have recently appeared more and more often on the pages of our leading newspapers. It is therefore quite appropriate to go on a small excursion following the traces of the mutual coexistence of Palestinians and Jews, who seem to be the main actors of the Middle East conflict. The objectivity of many (even leading) Czech dailies and other periodicals is an endless and inexhaustible source of polemics and discussions among politicians, political scientists and journalists. This so-called bias is based on the commercial nature of the mass media. Most of them are "living" on how many copies the public buys. For this reason, even some serious media "slip" into popularizing their news.
Nowadays, when we are literally flooded with an abundance of information from all fields of human activity, we are grateful for any concise and comprehensive information with the help of which I can easily form an opinion on this or that matter.
