Seminars about the USA in Salzburg
Abstract
In Salzburg, at the Leopoldskron Castle, 6 four-week seminars on the USA are held every year, the aim of which is to bring the listeners closer and clarify to experts in theory and practice - basic issues of the American economy, political system, - domestic and foreign policy, American law, urban planning and regional planning in the USA and American culture. In 1966, these seminars were held for the twentieth time and a total of 5,000 students participated. Among the more than 400 professors who lectured here, we can find names important American personalities, such as W. W. Rostow, McGeorge Bundy, A. S. Fleming, A. J. Goldberg, H. Morgenthau, W. R. Burgess, S. K. Padover, J. J. Corona, and others. Students have access to a library with 15,000 volumes and 140 American periodicals.
